Following previous sanctions that US imposed to China in Sep, on Dec. 3rd, the US government has officially listed SMIC、CNOOC、China Construction Technology and CIECC on Pentagon’s black list. And S&P Dow Jones Indices on Thursday became the second major index provider to remove some Chinese companies from its index products following a Trump administration executive order which designed to deter U.S. investment firms, pension funds, and others from buying shares of Chinese companies designated by the U.S.

Defense Department as backed by the Chinese military. These firms including Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co Ltd and Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp (SMIC) from all equity indexes prior to the market open on Dec. 21. And FTSE Russell (an UK firm who provides benchmarks, analytics, and data solutions) also said on Dec. 4th that it would remove eight Chinese firms from its products to comply with the U.S. executive order.

It seems other than the U.S., many other countries have significant concerns in using funds or products from China. The surveillance products with Hisilicon solution will be excluded by not the U.S. market, but also very likely by the markets in Brzil, UK and other countries. So far the surveillance service providers are aiming for Novatek solution for the middle high end products because it’s relatively mature compare to others. In order to smooth the transition, HI SHARP has took our steps ahead in making the replacement of the NVR/DVR/ IP cameras available by end of Q4 2020. Now the NVR with Novatek solution and IP cameras with Realtek solutions are in place.
